heard about Brad Chesnut, The Dock Doctor from KC at the north end of
the lake. After hearing about my dock needs, KC knew immediately he
should share Brad's phone number with me. I sure am glad KC did. Brad
has been a godsend! I initially called Brad about building a new boat
dock on 01-02-08. Brad did a great job on the new dock. Three months
later a very strong wind storm turned the dock over. I called Brad
again. He came and did a great job of repairing it. During Fall 2009 the
lake became very low. My dock was out in the lake - far from the bank.
Someone removed 2 floating pads from the dock. I called Brad once again
for help. He fixed it right away for me. Brad does very good work! He's
been so good to help me. I can call Brad anytime and he's always willing
to help me out. He's like having a very good friend now. I can always
depend on Brad to do a great job at a fair price! Thank you Brad for all
the help you've given me. I'm sure I will need help again in the future
and I'll be calling you and your buddy Sam.
an old Billy Martin boat house, had the old floats under it. They were
just about non-floats. Brad replaced it with encapsulated floats. Never
knew it could float so high. Brad does all my work, always does a little
extra. Thanks again Brad, great work as always.
of weeks ago my wife and I were making the call again to Brad (The Dock
Doctor) after a tornado completely ripped into our 60 foot houseboat,
tearing steel rails off her and bending them like pretzels, twisting and
bowing the massive hull, and then lifting her up and sinking her bow
first completely in 40 feet of water on bow end, and twenty five feet on
the stern end. Thank the Lord that no one was on board her when it hit.
Only the tip of one of the VHF radio antennas was visible. I explained
to Brad on my cell phone as my wife and I were driving back to the site
with oil and gas containment buoys to ring her with in order to prepare
for any leaking fuel that might come up, that we needed him and his team
as quickly as possible on this, as we had to get her up fast. In a short
time Brad was there with two work boats, divers, many massive airbags,
several large commercial pumps, and a sound game plan to get her to the
surface ASAP with airbags, and then all the pumps to take over once that
was done. A sixty footer holds a lot of water, and it takes a great deal
of air to bring her up. Secondly, in bringing a boat of this size to the
surface, the airbags have to be aligned perfectly, and inflated at the
exact same rate and time so that the boat doesn't roll to one side like
an iceberg once near the surface, possibly endangering the divers. Brad
and his team of experts did it perfectly. Even the on site Marine
Insurance accident professional was very impressed with the job that
Brad's team did, and he had just come from working with some of the best
salvage teams in North America at the Hurricane Sandy disaster. My wife
and I have been using the professional services of Brad Chestnut, The
Dock Doctor, for 18 years now, and in this situation he again proved
that no job is too big. He is our 'go-to professional' when it comes to
docks and boats in trouble. His work is always professional, his prices
fair, and his word you can trust.
Brad has been our go to dock master for a long time. He
is reliable, honest, fair, and highly skilled at any and all things
related to boats and docks. He has saved our boat from sinking, raised
an underwater ramp, moved our dock to deeper water during low water
levels, and other dock related problems. He is always fair on pricing,
creative with fixing "unsolvable problems", reliable with his service,
and just a really nice guy. I hope that I never have to try to find
anyone else to take care of our dock related problems...I really can't
imagine finding anyone else of his caliber on Lake Lanier. And you get
to meet his trusty pal Sam as well! What a great dog he is!
As a kid, I grew up on Lake Lanier, living in the eagle
creek area near Bald Ridge Marina. Learned to ski at age three, and
built our first dock at age 11 with friends. After my wife and I married
we moved to the area of the lake known as Young Deer Creek, and Deer
Creek Shores. In my lifetime I have probably owned 11 docks. In all
those 55 years I have met a lot of people who said they were expert
boatmen or dock men. None of them, not one, have had anywhere near the
skills, technical ability, 'outside of the box creativity', or honesty
of Brad Chesnut - simple as
that. For the last 16 years my wife and I have depended on Brad
Chestnut, and his t trusty rat terrier Sam to help us on the simplest of
problems to the most difficult of problems. When the lake levels became
very low, we needed to relocate our dock and houseboat to deeper water
until the level rose again. I called Brad, and he helped me determine
the best area to move it, helped me clear the move with the corp and
everyone concerned. On the day of the move, he executed it flawlessly
and professionally. I have called Brad for structural problems with a
dock encountering very high winds, and structural failure. In a very
short time he was on site and welding a fix that worked perfectly. I
have called Brad when we had an old antique 1955 racing boat take on
water and unexpectedly sink. Within an hour he was on site, and in three
hours he miraculously had it to the surface and salvaged. Bottom line is
this. I know this Lake like the back of my hand, and I have seen many
come and go who said they knew dock craft. There is no one, absolutely
no one, who works the magic on boats and docks on Lake Lanier better
than Brad Chestnut, and his dog Sam. Brad is honest, knowledgeable,
thinks outside of the box, and fast. He knows what he is doing. If you
need to talk to a reference concerning Brad Chesnut, call him, have him
give you my cell number, and call me personally.
Brad has helped me with our dock on several occasions and has always
been prompt in replying with expert information and very fair pricing.
He lives up to every promise in regard to quality and start date. I have
never had any problem with any repairs that Brad has done - always 100%
as promised. Very honest and hard working. I am so glad I found him and
there is no need to ever call anyone but Brad.
Brad came out and
gave me an excellent price to get my ramp out of the water and put my
dock back in place. I called several people and Brad gave me the best
price and same day service. I would recommend him for any job you have
involving your dock. Thank you Brad and I WILL call you when I need
something else done on the water.
came up this weekend part of our dock was aground. We tried to fix it
ourselves but could not and were concerned that it would get worse when
they lowered the water level on Monday. Looked for help on the internet.
Called Brad and he had it fixed Saturday night. Really appreciate his
quick response and did a good job.
Brad built a new dock for us in June 2012. In our 1st meetings, Brad was
both professional and personable (and always on time). During the design
phase he was very helpful suggesting pros/cons and the cost of various
options. I always felt that Brad was designing the best solution at the
best price for us. Brad started the work when he said he would and
completed the dock a few days early. Our new dock is very well
constructed and a pleasure to use. This project was a very nice
experience. It was like I was working with a friend. Brad would be my
1st call for any future dock work.
Our runaway dock left, but thanks to Brad and Sam, it came home safely.
From the first
time I met Brad, I knew he and his company were all about trust and
quality. Everything he told me was the "real deal" and my experience
doing business with him was the best. Soon I am going to move to a
larger dock and Brad will be the one that I call on. Bottom line ... he
is the best in the business!!
Brad did a
great job on my dock for me. His work was excellent and he did the work
on time and exactly as he promised. I would gladly recommend him to
anyone wanting quality work at a fair price. Thanks Brad.
I am very happy
with the service I received from Brad. The work was done exactly to what
was agreed upon and in a timely matter. Thanks Brad.
I found Brad on
the internet & liked the personal sound of his website. He did a great
job on my dock, gave a reasonable price, and taught me new information
about maintaining my dock. I'll definitely have Brad (& Sam) back when I
need dock work. Thanks, Brad.
Brad and Samson are great! Brad and his crew re-roofed and re-decked our
35 yd dock and made it like new. We depend on him to maintain our dock,
has been here in 20 degree weather to weld a stabilizer leg torn loose
by a winter storm. Can't find a more capable dock doctor.
Brad is great! Does good work, is on time, trustworthy, and has fair
pricing. Gave many great ideas about taking care of my dock and about
future possible changes to accommodate a new boat! Have recommended him
to others who were also very satisfied! And Sam, his canine companion,
is a great work supervisor for Brad!!! Thanx Brad! Am looking forward to
future dock fixes with you!
Doctor has taken care of our dock for the past ten years. My
husband is no longer able to maintain the dock as needed and Brad has always been there for us anytime we need him -
from chasing the dock during storms, to re-decking it. He does
fine work and is true to his word.
Brad and Sam
are an invaluable team that we are fortunate to have on our side when
dealing with dock issues. Over the years
Brad has converted our dock from a single to a double slip,
re-decked the old portion, replaced and updated the floats and
added on to the ramp. From the initial written estimate, to
the final clean up, everything is done with integrity and quality
workmanship. The Dock Doctor will become your friend, as well as your dock
done outstanding work on our dock. He has added a system with winches
and wheels for us. This has made dealing
with the water changes great and very easy to move even
for one person. I was able to walk it right up a steep bank with no
problem. Brad is very dependable and trustworthy. He
does quality work, is on time and within budget. I would highly
recommended Brad to others.
Brad Chestnut (aka, Dock
Doctor) is one of the best on Lake Lanier in providing reliable,
reasonable and quality boat dock
service. He is honest,
down-to-earth, as well as skilled and knowledgeable about all aspects of
dock service, and doesn't try
to sell you something you don't
need. Brad always shows up on time, even in bad weather when no one else
would come. I
have been very happy with the
excellent repairs and upgrades; Brad has made to my dock, ramp, floats,
lines, etc. over the
last 10+ years, and plan to continue to
use his services in the future. I highly recommend the Dock Doctor (and
I own a lake lot on the Baldridge section of Lake Lanier. Brad helped me
secure an economy 24'x 24' single dock, and does
required maintenance on
it. I don't live on the property and could not be more pleased with
his service and attention.
I called Brad out of desperation as I had been told by another dock
company that our dock was not salvageable due to the
damage in the last
couple of years caused by lack of maintenance, rise and
fall of water level and missing floatation devices.
Instead Brad gave me
wonderful alternative suggestions and I now have my dock floating, and in perfect
condition. I feel the
money we have spent was well worth what we have
and I know Brad is someone you can trust and have confidence that he
what he says he will. Thank you, Brad.
Brad moved a dock for us and helped us find a used dock for a fair
price. We recommended him to a friend and, even though
he called him at the last minute, Brad made time to help
him. He is always reliable and has great prices! Call Brad if you need a
dock guy! He's the best on Lanier! We couldn't be happier
with his services.
My Dad loves his job, and does a great job,
even though sometimes he makes me go with him to the job sites!
But that's all
right, I still love him and he is great at what he does, including being my father
and working on docks.
great job. I am very pleased with the price and the work that was done
on June 23,2010. Will use them again. Brad did what he said he would do. Very pleased. Thank you. Please feel free to call 404.222.0140
Brad is a "git
her done" kind of a guy. He gets it right the first time and his
guys know what they're doing.
experience. Transported a dock. Performed exactly what you
said. Happy with the job and price. Will use you when
did all we needed, when others said it needed more. Thanks Brad,
for a good job and a fair price.
take care of our family lake house. We all live out of state and
pray Brad is there when we need him. Thanks again for the quick response.
up whenever I call him and is real fair. We're very proud of the
the welding work. Brad, you are always our hero.
Brad and Sam
handle all our salvage work. I am happy to refer him to anyone for
dock repair or salvage. He is honest and a
Brad Chesnut has been taking care of mine and my Mom's boat
docks for the past 15 years or so. He is always on time, on
budget with quality work. Dock Doctor is the only one I
would ever call for boat dock maintenance and repair.
Brad did an outstanding job of replacing the old fixed boat launch dock
which was useless during drought conditions. The
new dock was extended and was allowed to rise and fall with
changing water levels. After eight years, this dock has
required no maintenance and looks as new as the day it was placed
Brad has helped us with our dock needs many times over the years, and most recently in helping us customize a previously owned dock we purchased, to work out with some of our old dock equipment and fit our needs. Brad is one of the hardest workers we have ever met, along with his staff. He came and worked as promised on a 90 plus degree, miserably humid day and worked all day even when he wasn't feeling well, to do the work he promised us. He does outstanding, quality work at a reasonable cost, shows up as promised and always delivers with a straight forward work ethic along with creative ideas to solve problems. If you have dock needs, see Brad Chestnut; we will never use anyone else for our dock work on Lake Lanier- Many thanks Brad to you and your team! ~ Allan and Regina Jones ~ Cumming GA
Dear Brad and Sam, Thanks for your excellent work on my terrific new 40ft ramp and awning. It's great to be able to use the dock before cold weather sets in and also to be in code with the Rangers at last. Looking forward to doing business with you - our neighbor- in the future. Anne Kirk ~ Cumming, GA
one of the best in the business. Brad and I have done business for over
10 years with all of my docks. He does outstanding and quality work and
at very reasonable price. Plus he is a great guy with great character.
Many thanks Brad.
This runaway dock at Dogwood has been a problem for us. We have almost lost this double-decker aluminum dock twice. This time two cables were broken, but a safety rope saved it. We normally fix the dock, but it was too cold and a job too big for us. Our son got on the internet and said we need to call the Dock Doctor, Brad Chesnut. That was very good advice. We called Brad and he met us and told us what needed to be done, gave us a reasonable price and said he have the work done in a few days. The dock was repaired, put back in place with new winches and cables. Without reservations we recommend Brad The Dock Doctor to do any work you need on your dock. Hugh & Gloria ~ Decatur, GA
My husband & I feel very fortunate to have such a terrific person taking care of our 40 year old dock. We trust Brad Chesnut completely and wouldn't consider getting a quote from another company. He is the best of the best! Just a few weeks ago Brad replaced our torn & worn out roof with a new, shiny red one. He has taken care of our dock since 1995, and all his work has been top notch. He always comes at the time promised, and does what he says at a very reasonable price. He is a joy to work with, and we really appreciate Brad. Jean & Thornton DeRosa ~ Cumming, Georgia
Brad replaced all of our old Styrofoam dock floats with encapsulated ones. He did everything he said he would do in a timely and professional manner. I would definitely call him again for any future dock work. Todd Appleton ~ Cumming, GA
Brad added cushions around the dock and added an awning extension to extend the dock. He recommended black cushions because the white cushions get very dirty and turn black. He did an excellent job of extending the dock with the awning. It keeps the rain out of the boat. He came out quickly and did an estimate and stood behind his estimate. I would definitely recommend Brad to anyone needing dock service. Jesse Still 欯wery Branch, GA
Brad did an outstanding job on our dock. He is very professional and did all he said he would do and more to fix up the dock. I also found that the prices for his repairs were much more suitable than those from other dock repair places. Thank you Brad, for all you have done. This summer is going to be great! Kelli Britt ~ Cumming, GA
It is refreshing to have an honest, reasonable professional working on your dock. This is the second season we are working with Brad. Without reservation, I would recommend his work. Richard Goldblatt ~ Cumming, GA
Brad and his crew recently re-decked our dock. They did a great job and the attention to detail really shows. The most important thing to us however was that Brad made it all happen within the timeframe and estimate that he initially provided. It's refreshing to have a contracted job like this go so well. I would certainly use Brad and his team again and I fully recommend their services. Lloyd Penn ~ Gainesville, GA
Brad delivered everything I could ask in the addition of
a sun deck above the slip. The work was done on time (important for my
daughter), on budget, and with quality. Possibly as important as the
work itself is that Brad's attitude makes it easy to discuss options to
get the results we want. He is receptive to our wants and offers good
advice when what we want is not in our own best interest. As I have more
of these projects, I will call Brad again.
I just love the new addition to my dock that Brad put on for me. I wanted to have a place where I could go each morning to see the sunrise over the neighboring trees, and by adding another 10ft up, I can now enjoy another aspect of Lake Living from the top of my dock. The Sun-top was a great idea suggested by friends, and Brad did a fantastic job putting it on in a timely and economical fashion. Thanks so much, Brad! And thanks to his four-legged assistant, Sam, too! Sandy-Young Deer Creek
I was referred to Brad from my neighbor for his outstanding work that he did on there dock. I called Brad and explained to him what my dock was requiring to get it back in shape because this dock had lacked attention for a long time. I asked him when he would be able to come out and look at it and give me some idea on pricing. He said after lunch I can stop by and take a look at it and promptly after lunch he showed up and knew exactly what was needed without hesitation and gave me a great estimate. I said Iಥady when ever you are to do the job and he replied that he had a couple jobs ahead of me but he thought he could start the following mid week. Come mid next week he had his crew with all supplies and did a wonderful job!! I also want to mention Brad and his Team where vary professional and polite. And know Iలoud of my dock and if I need any additional work there is no question who I will be calling !!!!! (Brad the Dock Doctor) - James Staurt
When we moved to Lake Lanier in 2011, our realtor recommended Brad to us, and we堧lad she did. Brad has done several jobs related to our dock over the years, including adding a roof, increasing the size of the sun deck, adding a ladder, rebuilding the steps down to the dock, replacing the ramp wheels, changing out floats, and making general repairs. He is always pleasant and professional. He prices jobs fairly, shows up when he says he will, and does the work the way he promised he would. I highly recommend him. Charlie W. 欯wery Branch, GA
Brad and his crew did an outstanding job moving my dock. He and his crew are very professional and knowledgeable. They offered several suggestions that would help my dock to remain safe and sturdy for years to come. I highly recommend Bradrvices. Robert Camarco 硩nesville, GA
I was referred to Brad from a fellow attorney. I needed to have my client's dock extensively repaired in order to renew the dock permit. Brad met me at the property and quickly provided a proposal for the work. The work was done on schedule and came out exactly as expected. He did what he promised, communicated well, and did a great job. Very pleased. -David J. Sergio, Attorney at Law
I highly recommend Brad and his crew for dock work on Lake Lanier. Dependable, knowledgeable, professional crew was a pleasure to work with. Stayed in contact until the job was done and followed up to resolve additional issues found during the repairs. Will call Brad for any and all dock repairs. Richard Burke ⵦord, GA
I was in need of both a dock removal and dock relocation on Lake Lanier. I searched the Internet and was introduced to BradTheDockDoctor.com. I wanted someone with experience that would get the job done as promised and on time. I gave Brad a call and explained what services I needed for my old dock and the new dock. Brad was quick to email me an estimate and his fees for his services were competitive in the market. As promised, Brad and his team relocated my new dock, installed the new dock and removed my old dock all in the same day. If you are looking for someone with experience that provides great service and value, then I would strongly recommend you contact Brad and his team. You wonࢥ disappointed. T. Bierster ~ Flowery Branch, GA
Ike to share a brief review on our recent project with Brad and his team. We needed to replace and old dock walkway with a new one that would be light and make our dock easy to move. Brad provided us a quote with several options that we found significant better value than the big dock companies. He was very accurate in his estimated lead time to get to our project ⭳ weeks. The lake was low and getting lower so he offered to come out and move our dock and old walkway into deeper water so we would have no issues waiting the 2-3 weeks. This was a big relief and from everything went exactly as planned 帰ect for a small upgrade he provided at no cost! He provided what we agreed (plus the small upgrade at no added charge) on time and at the price we agreed. He and his crew were great to work with and I have already recommended him to several friends. Iਡppy to be a reference for Brad anytime. ~ Mike and Heidi Wood ~ Buford GA
